HELP
Explore volunteer opportunities with Light of Life
Fundraise: Host a Light of Life Fair Trade for Freedom event selling jewelry, accessories, and all-natural body products made by survivors; facilitate a luncheon or dinner/movie night/silent auction; organize a concert or 5k Run; seek donations and host a community yard sale - get creative!
Donate professional assistance – Let’s talk about how you can use your expertise (therapists, dentists, lawyers, accountants, marketing/graphic designers and others)
Get your church or civic organization involved – educate and take action
Practice good stewardship and purchase fair trade and slave-free products whenever possible (see slaveryfootprint.org)
Look for opportunities to serve the vulnerable in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, pregnancy resource centers
DEFEND
Encourage/mentor vulnerable children and teens at after-school programs such as those offered by The Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Salvation Army, YMCA, and Girls Inc. - as well as local schools and church youth groups
Refuse to buy or watch anything (clothing, toys, video games, movies and TV) that sexualizes children and youth
Report suspected human trafficking – put the National Human Trafficking Hotline number in your phone
