Street Outreach
Healing and renewed hope begin with building relationships and support. Seeking to connect and engage with vulnerable women, our street outreach program is designed to provide opportunities for friendly interaction, to offer prayer, and to meet a practical need. Strategically located in a neighborhood where women are at-risk of exploitation and may be struggling with life controlling issues, we do this in two primary ways.
On various days of the week during the afternoon or evening, trained volunteers teams walk the neighborhood. As we walk, we offer sandwiches, snacks and bottled water as well as gift bags filled with personal care items. Each bag includes a card with an encouraging note and information about our support center, Revive.
Periodically, we set up tables in a nearby park where we offer drinks, snacks, gift bags and special seasonal items such as flip flops or hats and scarves. Our goal is to be a consistent, caring presence in the neighborhood and to invite women to drop in at the center where we hope to continue to build rapport and offer support.
