Hello Friends! Welcome to the Out of Darkness Bible study.   As a fellow survivor of child sexual abuse, I want you to know that this study was created with you in mind.  You see, God put this on my heart so that He could bring healing through it.  It’s no accident that you are reading this, that you are here.  And I am so glad you are.

As a survivor of multiple instances of sexual abuse, I have had the benefit of many years of counseling and support.  This was incredibly helpful to me, and I will always be grateful for those counselors and the hours we spent working through the emotional and psychological scars that were barriers in my life.  But sexual abuse leaves more than the emotional, physical, or psychological damage.  Sexual abuse is a violation that always damages the soul.  These deep spiritual scars need healing too.  And that healing comes from one place and one place only.  That healing comes from Jesus Christ. 

Through the scriptures of the Bible, the Word of God himself, we will discover the healing light that defeats even the darkest of wounds.  We will journey together through the sorrows and the pain to find the joy that is our right through faith in Jesus.

As we dive into the murky waters of shame, loss, powerlessness, anger, sexual intimacy, fear and forgiveness, we will find, together, that there is hope in all of it.
